Ok got my bags
My favorite
The first I made -- made lots of mistakes on but at least I learned a few things
inside with partitions
2nd bag - still learing but it has one pocket and a roll up organizers with several pockets in it of varying size depending on what you store in your bag.
And what I will be making - you can see the linings that I will be using with each of them
I'm really looking forward to trying these. They should all be waterproof or at least resistent

Rutherford's smear campaign (a must read)
by Leolaia inthere has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

Secret Watchtower Letter: PARENTS HAVE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHILD'S SAFETY
by steve2 inin a separate thread, cedar's response to the watchtower's hot-off-the-secret-press-to-elders letter on child abuse is featured.
cedar's article is a powerful, well-composed overview of that letter.. tellingly, in the watchtower letter you will not find any direct exhortation requiring parents to first go to the elders when their child discloses sex abuse.
no, the watchtower is much too clever to directly state what parents should or should not do.

nut-eeeee purse killer
sorry could not help myself but that really had me burst out in laughter.
Like many of you I hate changing purses. One of the reasons I am making the removablke purse organizers is so that I can just likt if out when I need to scrounge around in the bottom og the bag.. Because I am sitting it can't be too big but even though I have bags on the back of my chair I still want everything I might need very handy.
I'll tell you a secret. I get many of my bags from Value Village. I have been checking out the construction of a variety bags just so I have an idea how they are made and how pieces fit together.
I have considered knitting or crocheting a bag and adding a cloth lining inside to help keep the shape.
One other thing about the bags I am making - recycled materials. I pick up the material from remnants at Value Village or a used items store near me. This one I am making has a plastic insert in the bottom to keep it stiff - made from the plastic cover of a binder and cut to size. I also have a ton of zippers I can use also found at Value Village.
The next set of bags I will make will be from placemats. I found some really cool patterns on the internet and then I was in a dollar store and found these beautiful placements. It should be interesting to see how they turn out.

interesting answers
BTW, what do you call the small money-holding receptacle we call a purse?
Wallet for paper money and change purse for coins although many wallets have a section for change
Right now my favorite spring, summer, and fall purse is a brown leather embossed bag. Black or dark blue for winter
Long strap that crosses the body and sits on my left hip or lap. I need hands free because my right hand is always on the wheelchair joystick while my left hand is doing everything else.
Lots of pockets. At least one exterior pocket for bus pass. My brown purse has 3 large zippered pockets and one of those has a small pocket that I put my address book in along with med boxes, chapstick etc. The first pocket has my wallets (one for cards, another for IDs and more cards and a change purse for both paper and coins. This also is where I carry my e-reader. Middle pocket has camera, batteries, MP3 player and any other electronic gadget I have with me. Third pocket has my list of DVDs I have (terrible about buying something I already have), disabled parking permit for when I go out with a car, and various other things like tissues, pens and a small notebook.
My wheelchair carries a ton of stuff with a bag on the back for shopping bags, rain gear, cord for charging the chair as well as a folding cane and whatever else I might think I need. I really carry waaaay too much stuff with me. and a small bag between my back and the front of the seat. That one holds mostly maps for quick reference (wheelchairs version of a glove compartment lol)
Some of you know that every year I try to learn something new. it took me until the last month to figure out what that would be. So I am making purses. Right now I have used the dimensions of my favorite brown purse to make a cloth one of similar size and shape. This is my second one and it is turning out way better than the first. The first one had the three pockets. I learned a lot about what NOT to do. It is a mess. But it was supposed to be a learning experience and it was. This second purse is coming along very nicely.
If this turns out as well as it looks like it will then I have a bunch of materials for more purses. I will try to post some pictures later.

The problem with placing the responsibility on the parents is confusing.
- Nowhere does it state that parents should go to the police or social services first. They will still go to the elders first.
- Rules about taking your brother to court are still in effect. Therefore parents are inhibited from going to the police or social services.
- Rules about how to deal with problems with your brothers remain in tact. Therefore if a JW abused your child you would go to the elders before going outside the congregation.
- Rules about slander, gossip and causing divisions within the cong are still in effect therefore the victim and family are gagged into silence or risk reproof.
- Rules about warning parents about abusers is very sketchy. (see below)
Paragraph 10 says:
Elders should help the parents of the children involved to understand that they have the primary responsibility for protecting their children.
Note that it refers to only the family involved. Not others in the congregation.
- Warning who? of what?
Paragraph 13 says:
If the branch office determines that an individual will be considered a "predator," parents with minor children will need to be warned of the danger that exists so that they can protect their children. In such a case, and
only after receiving direction and instructions from the Service Department, two elders should be assigned to meet with the parents of minor children in order to provide a warning.
So basicly nothing has changed. If the Service dept says tell "no one" then no warning will ever be given
7. By placing the responsibility on the parents they are trying to shift the blame as well.
